The Pan-European Ecosystem Forum Co-designing the future of Cultural and Creative entrepreneurs

  • News

Following the success of our National Ecosystem Forums held in Italy, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Slovenia, and Poland between March and June 2024, the Cultural BEES consortium is excited to announce that a Pan-European Ecosystem Forum will take place in Brussels on the 12th of February 2025.

The National Ecosystem Forums provided critical insights and contributions that shape the agenda of the Pan-European Forum, such as:

  • The Bulgarian Forum emphasized the need for cohesive national strategies for cultural heritage, identifying grassroots initiatives and the importance of education in fostering entrepreneurial skills.
  • The Cypriot Forum highlighted legislative barriers, the lack of training for educators, and the insufficient connection between the cultural heritage sector and market demands.
  • In Italy, discussions revolved around the role of cultural heritage and creativity as economic catalysts, offering students a deeper understanding of cultural enterprises.
  • Poland’s Forum focused on fostering youth involvement, proposing strategies for regional development, and advocating for increased government support.
  • The Slovenian Forum explored integrating cultural heritage with entrepreneurial ventures, emphasizing collaboration between education, industry, and local traditions.

More information for the National Ecosystems Forums can be found here.

The National Ecosystem Forums revealed that young people are eager to become part of the cultural entrepreneurship ecosystem, but they often face barriers such as limited access to resources, insufficient training, and a lack of entrepreneurial education. Addressing these gaps is essential for enabling youth to have access to the necessary skills, knowledge and tools to succeed in their careers within the CCI sector.

The upcoming Pan-European Ecosystem Forum aims to bring together a key group of diverse  stakeholders from the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) sector to share insights, best practices, exchange ideas, and design tools for the future of youth entrepreneurship within CCI. “The Pan-European Ecosystem Forum marks a crucial step in reimagining entrepreneurship education for the cultural sector. Our national forums have illuminated a clear need: equipping young creatives with the business acumen and practical skills to transform their passion into sustainable enterprises. This forum will be a crucible for innovative ideas, forging new pathways for education and empowering the next generation of cultural entrepreneurs to truly flourish.”  said Maxi Torau, Senior Public Grants Project Manager at JA Europe.

A key highlight of the Forum will be the contribution of policy experts and stakeholders in shaping an impactful ecosystem for creative innovation. Their insights are important in addressing emerging trends, overcoming challenges, and highlighting opportunities for the next generation of creative entrepreneurship.

The Cultural Bess consortium will facilitate an interactive workshop, where participants will collaboratively brainstorm and design learning opportunities and initiatives aiming to engage more young people in the cultural and creative entrepreneurship motivated young entrepreneurs in the CCI sector.
